CLUTCH COMBO WOES
The last race report told how we were the quickest while testing a new clutch at the Pinks All Out taping. This same clutch combo at the AMA/Dragbike Nationals in Martin, MI would not get us off the starting line. The bike would either boog or spin leaving us outside the qualifying field come Saturday night. Determined to find the problem we ran the same combo at the TSDRA race the next weekend. We were able to win the race but the clutch was still inconsistent.
Two more races at 2 Wheel Speeds-Hardcore series got us to the finals for one of the races but tire spin down track cost us the win. The new XXX 138 fuel produced 192 MPH on only 25 lbs of boost. That mph used to require 29 lbs. We hope this translates into 200 mph passes when we get better traction at the AMA/Dragbike Nationals in Indy and can push 30+ lbs of boost. We will be concluding our testing of the new clutch at July 25th TSDRA race. If it is not consistent by then the winning combo from the '08 world finals will be in it for the Indy race. Hope to see you there.
