Ice Racing -Almost
The last two races in the frozen north went our way as we qualified #1 for both of them. Byron's World Power Wheelie Weekend for the cars had our ProStreet bike class running only a 4 bike field for the 6600 in attendance. This year we got the race in despite the cold weather and sprinkles and the Stotz Racing cbr1000rr beat them all again. The following weekend had the same forecast but only a high in the forties (which did not stay around long). Even with rain and cold immanent, the TSDRA Finals pulled in over 3500 fans. At one point I had 13 of them in my motorhome warming up. Even in the first round my visor was starting to fog as the starting line tree activated. With our #1 qualifier of 7.44 we raced up to the semi-final when the races was cancelled due to frost. With the championship already locked up we headed home.
This was going to be the last report of racing for the year but with AMA/Dragbike taking some weight back off of us for 2010 but effective immediately, we are doing whatever it takes to get to the AMA Finals. If we get the new hand slider clutch, I would sell my second born to get there (can't sell the first born, he might be riding) just kidding. Our new 1000 RR is going together nicely with some updates being incorporated.
Four time AMA Dragbike ProStreet Champion Kent Stotz became the first Street Bike to set the 200 mph record (7.25 seconds at 200.49 mph).
