Stotz Racing brings home the Indy Win

June turned out to be a big test session for Stotz Racing. We headed to Virginia Motorsports Park June 22-23 for the second Manufacturers Cup race but left the Captain America CBR1000 home to solely concentrate on old red and winning the race. Testing on Friday went amazing, setting our personal best 1/8 mile e.t. and quickest 1/8 out of ALL turbo bike entries. Heading into Saturday there was a chance of rain in the forecast. The track personal and Man Cup owners tried their best to get qualifying in before the rain came. We were able to get one round of qualifying in on Friday and tried to get one Saturday but, a monsoon came pouring rain for the whole afternoon and most of the night. Sunday rolled around and the sun was out and blistering hot. Unfortunately there was so much rain that the water started coming up from underneath the track through the cracks on the track leaving it an unsafe race track. The race was called and racers were awarded points for qualifying.

In July our luck finally had a change for the better. Traveling to Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, IN for the July 12-14 NHDRO Summer Sizzler. Friday during testing we thought we hurt a motor. The data showed the bike went super lean. Fearing that we hurt the motor we pulled the plugs, did our leak down test and inspected the oil filter. Finding nothing wrong we soldered on. We qualified number three with a 7.28@199mph. Not satisfied with the bikes performance we entered grudge to get the bike ready for Sunday. The first round on Sunday is when everything changed for us. Running a 7.14@200 in blistering heat we all looked at each other and grinned, this motor has some stones! Cutting amazing lights all weekend, Frankie was untouchable, running 7.14, 7.12, 7.11 to reach the finals. The finals pitted Tyler Fisher riding Mark Pauqettes turbo Hayabusa against our turbo CBR1000RR. The Fisher/Pauquette Hayabusa hurt itself earlier and was not able to make the final sealing the Win for Stotz Racing. Both teams are looking for a rematch at the upcoming Man Cup/NHDRO Pingel Thunder Nationals Aug. 16-18.
