Breaking Records first race of 2014
There is no off season for race teams that win Championships. Stotz Racing dynoed two new combinations and made several chassis changes over the winter and they definitely paid off. It took a little tuning but by the first round of eliminations on Sunday the winter work paid off. Frankie blistered the old 6.95 National Record with a 6.908 E.T. at 203.63 MPH. No one was more excited than Kent Stotz, Frankie's dad and builder/ tuner for the Stotz Racing- Honda team. Kent jumped about three feet off the ground when he saw the 6.90. For the second round Kent said it might go a 6.89 if the conditions were just right again. Unfortunately the water injection solenoid failed and the motor bogged off the starting line. They say it's always the $3.00 part that gets you. Our competitor, DME's Joey Gladstone, went on to win and also was able to back up his record of 6.905. Congratulations to the D.M.E. team and I am sure we will both be trying to be the first in the 6.89 range.
The new D.M.E. swingarms and BST wheels with the Mickey Thompson tires obviously did a great job hooking up. The new MicroBlued, J E Piston engine with Falicons Crank and Rods let the Star head work well to create this record breaking horsepower. We also dyno tested our new BullsEye Turbo with the Batmowheel compressor wheel on the Red, White and Blue bike on Thursday. That baike set its personal best also and should be ready to set records at the May 16th NHDRO race in Indy. We will be debuting the new AirTech bodywork and hopefully have it painted like the new CBR1000RR ST. 2014 is starting out to be one heck of a fast year.
